Hardware
Every MistyCloud service runs on our own hardware: game servers, website hosting and client applications. The machines come in two specifications, and which one a service runs on depends on what it needs.
Machine specifications
- AMD Ryzen 9 7900
- 12 cores / 24 threads, clock up to 5.4 GHz, DDR5 memory
- AMD Ryzen 9 5950X
- 16 cores / 32 threads, clock up to 4.9 GHz, DDR4 memory
- NVMe drives
- reads up to 7,000 MB/s and as many as 1M IOPS
- System
- Linux, updated regularly
Game servers
Minecraft and Vintage Story are effectively single-threaded in the critical path (the world tick), so a high single-core clock matters. That is why games always run on the Ryzen 9 7900, and every server gets its own container with CPU and RAM limits per plan.
Websites and apps
A website or application handles many requests in parallel, so core count matters too, and the Ryzen 9 5950X has 16 of them. Resources are matched to the specific project, and NVMe drives speed up database work.
Location and network
The machines sit in a data center in Wrocław. The hardware is ours, and our network uplink goes directly to the carrier, with no intermediaries in between.
Data center
- City
- Wrocław, Poland
- Uplink
- direct to the carrier
- Ping
- low latency for users all over Poland and in neighbouring countries
The farther away a server is, the more milliseconds every packet takes. Players feel it in PvP, and on a website the delay makes pages load longer.
Anty-DDoS protection
DDoS protection runs at the network level and covers every server, whether it runs a game or a website. Malicious traffic is filtered before it reaches the machine. We do not sell “premium protection” as an add-on.
Backups and monitoring
Backups
Data is encrypted before it leaves the machine and goes to several physically separate locations every day. On game servers you can also make a backup from the panel at any time and lock important copies against deletion.
Monitoring
Zabbix watches the machines and services around the clock and notifies us when something is out of the ordinary.
