One world for phone, console and PC
Minecraft Bedrock (phones, Xbox, PlayStation, Switch, Windows 10/11) and Minecraft Java are two separate games that normally cannot see each other's servers. Geyser is a plugin that translates the Bedrock protocol to Java on the fly, and Floodgate lets Bedrock players log in without a Java account. The result: you set up a regular Paper server, install two plugins from the panel, and the whole crew plays together, whatever the platform.
How to set it up
- Set up a server on Paper (or Purpur). Bedrock through Geyser works on the plugin engines.
- Install Geyser and Floodgate from the plugin installer in the panel.
- Check the UDP port in the server's network settings. The panel assigns it automatically, and you enter that number in the Geyser config.
- Give players the address: Java connects as usual, Bedrock enters the same address and the UDP port.
Phones and tablets
Android and iOS connect to the server directly, all they need is the address and port.
Consoles
Xbox, PlayStation and Switch need a workaround for the “featured servers” list, for example BedrockConnect.
PC
Java and Bedrock on Windows connect as usual. The same world, the same builds.

OrderQuestions about Bedrock and crossplay
Can console players (PlayStation, Xbox, Switch) join the server?
Yes, through Geyser. On consoles you need to get around the limit on joining custom servers, usually with a DNS setting or the BedrockConnect app.
Does a Bedrock player need a Java account?
No, if you install Floodgate. Bedrock players then log in with their Microsoft account, and the server recognises them by a prefix in their name.
Does everything work the same as on Java?
Almost. Geyser translates the protocol on the fly, so some plugins with their own GUI, or mods, may look different. Survival, building, PvP and most plugins work without any difference.
Can I have a Bedrock-only server?
The simplest option is Paper with Geyser and Floodgate, even if all your players are on Bedrock. That gives you access to Java plugins the Bedrock ecosystem lacks.
